The University of Namur Mass Spectrometry platform (MaSUN) involves equipment from different research units of NARILIS, NAMEDIC and the University of Namur: the Department of Pharmacy, the Organic Chemistry Unit (UCO), the Mass Spectrometry service and the Cell Biology Research Unit of the Department of Biology URBC).
In 2014, was awarded a FNRS grant to buy a new mass spectrometre, which now enables the quantification of small molecules in complex settings such as plasma. This niew piece of equipment supplements the MaSUN actual service offer.
Identification and characterization of small molecules, targetted compounds quantification (biomarkers, drugs...), proteomics analyses(gel-free or gel-dependent, label-free quantification), peptidomics (profile analyses), 2 dimensional HPLC (2D-LC), gel electrophoresis including 2D-DIGE.
